MR TREVOR P. BROCKERHOFF

LLB (University of Namibia)

Mr Brockerhoff is a graduate of the University of Namibia who has over 8 years experience as a senior legal officer in the ministry of justice. During his tenure as a legal officer he regularly advised on highly complex litigious matters and obtained a stellar reputation for his work as a trial attorney.

Trevor Phillip Brockerhoff brings to the firm litigation experience in excess of eight years. He joined the Directorate Legal Aid in December 2009 where he has amassed vast experience in criminal, labour and civil litigation. Furthermore he has extensively practised in the Magistrate’s courts, High Court and the Supreme Court of Namibia.

Amongst various high profile cases, Mr Brockerhoff was one of the litigants in the constitutional challenge in re: constitutionality of long and  excessive prison sentences in the Supreme Court of Namibia.

MR HASSAN ENGELBRECHT

LLB (University of Namibia)

Mr Hassan Engelbrecht is an LLB graduate of The University of Namibia and an Admitted Legal Practitioner of the High Court of Namibia.

He started his professional legal career as a Public Prosecutor working for the Ministry of Justice. Later on he served as a Senior Legal Officer/Legal Researcher/Registrar of the High Court. In addition he has acquired  private practice experience as an Associate Attorney at Tjombe- Elago Incorporated, where he dealt with matters related to  Labour, Civil and Criminal Practice and Procedure in the Magistrates, High and Supreme Courts of Namibia.

MS LILIAN MBAEVA

LLB (University of Namibia)

Lilian Mbaeva is a Trade Law Expert who holds a B Juris, LLB (Honors) (UNAM) and a Masters of Laws (LLM) degree specializing in International Trade Law from the University of Cape Town. She is an admitted Legal Practitioner of the High Court of Namibia and is responsible for the Civil, Commercial and Labour Law division of the firm. Her responsibilities include drafting and negotiating commercial and business contracts, joint ventures, legal compliance, mergers and acquisitions and trade agreements. Her special interest is advising on legal aspects of doing business in Africa (with a special focus on Chinese Investments in Africa) through an in-depth knowledge of complexities and nuances of legal and regulatory framework internationally.

Lilian comes with a wealth of experience in the legal environment, from Prosecution, Legal Advice in a Regulatory Compliance environment and having served on the Bench as Magistrate for a number of years. Lilian further lectures subjects ranging from Workplace Dispute Resolution, Civil Procedure Professional Legal Ethics and Customary Law.
